WELCOME TO SEAL - BAINBRIDGE ISLAND

SEAL is a parent group whose mission is Supporting Engagement for Advanced Learners.

Kids get the most out of school—and life—when they’re engaged and challenged.

As parents, we want to help make that happen for our kids—and support other parents who want to do the same. We created SEAL to build community for advanced learners by organizing social events, sponsoring lectures, creating a newsletter, setting up a lending library, and launching a website and Facebook group.

Some members of SEAL also sit on the BISD Highly Capable Education Advisory Committee (HCEAC), which lets us bring parent ideas and concerns to decision-makers within BISD.

Please join us! We welcome all parents of advanced learners, whether or not the school district has officially identified your child as Highly Capable. We’d love to have you participate in events and share your concerns, questions, and ideas.

TO JOIN THE SEAL FACEBOOK GROUP

Joining the group is a two step process:
1) click here and request to be a member of a 'fake' public group
2) we will take your request and invite you to the private group

Why two steps?  We value the privacy of the parents and children in this community.  We don't want to expose membership or any communications within our group to the larger Facebook community.

By requesting membership to the first group, you provide the necessary Facebook information to enable us to invite you to the second.
